1. Who/What is SPARC?

SPARC is collaborative initiative of the Delaware Department of Education, Junior Achievement of Delaware, United Way of Delaware and the Delaware Business Roundtable Education Committee. The goal of SPARC is to help bridge the gap between the career aspirations of students and adults in Delaware by providing a free platform for career guidance/discovery that helps them connect with professionals in their career(s) of interest to provide real life perspectives of the world of work.

2. What are the goals of SPARC? How is this accomplished?

SPARC’s web-based platform is powered by CareerCruising.com. Through the use of the program, teachers, students and administrators are able to monitor the student/career seekers progress to help facilitate their use.

3. Why do I need to undergo a background check to participate in SPARC?

SPARC does this to ensure that our web portal is a safe environment for our students/users. Applicants with minor offenses (e.g. traffic and other violations) will be accepted. Applicants with more serious offenses are evaluated according to internal guidelines. All results are kept strictly confidential between the applicant and SPARC.
